5) Instructional Leader
Learner-centered Instructional Leadership
The fifth competency defines that the principal knows how to advocate, nurture, and sustain an instructional program and a campus culture that are conducive to student learning and staff professional growth. You are invited to click here for my blog posts related to learner-centered instructional leadership. Here is how I strive to meet the expectations of this competency:
- At-risk Learner Protocol of Freshman Transition Program – created the at-risk learner protocol to support the instructional program and educators with at-risk learners. The protocol includes a standard expectation for all educators, parents, learners, and administrators. The protocol can be found in the FTP Overview.
- Lead Teacher & Lower-level Curriculum Coorindator – developed and shared curriculum for Spanish I Pre-Advanced Placement classes and CTE Academy classess with other educators.
- Academic Deanship of Language & Literacy – evaluated and partnered with Language and Literacy educators (English Department) in order to ensure student success and passion-driven learning.
